As a seasoned gamer with years of experience under my belt, I can’t help but feel a tinge of disappointment upon learning that the Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition has been delisted from the Epic Games Store ahead of the Remastered version’s launch. I’ve always been a fan of games that offer immersive open-world experiences, and Aloy’s adventure was no exception.
Horizon Zero Dawn: Remastered is scheduled to come out towards the end of October, bringing an enhanced take on Aloy’s initial journey to preserve what remains of her post-apocalyptic world. Interestingly, alongside the new release, Sony seems to be phasing out previous editions of the game across different platforms. For instance, the Complete Edition on the Epic Games Store is no longer available for purchase before the remastered version hits the shelves.
Recently, the Epic Games Store has removed Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition from its store. The “Buy” button for the game is no longer visible, and instead, a link to purchase the Remastered version is provided. This new edition releases on October 31, 2024, and boasts numerous enhancements. For PC users, it will offer ultrawide, super ultrawide, and triple monitor support, in addition to compatibility with Nvidia DLSS 3, DLAA, and Reflex features. AMD’s FSR and Intel XeSS technologies are also supported in this version.
In September 2024, PlayStation unveiled specifics about Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, following hints from an ESRB rating suggesting its upcoming release. This is part of a series of remasters and remakes they’ve been working on for their popular PS4 and PS5 games, with The Last of Us Part 1 being the most recent one in 2022. Some fans have debated the timing of these remakes given their interest in other titles like Bloodborne, but for now, this is what we’re receiving.
