Since a brief sneak peek of Hollow Knight: Silksong was shown in the Nintendo Switch 2 detailed presentation, enthusiasm for the game has been revived. Yet, this sneak peek also sparked some concerns among fans, as they feared Silksong might bypass the original Switch to focus on the next generation. However, Team Cherry’s Marketing & Publishing lead Matthew Griffin has clarified that the game will actually be released for both the current Switch and the upcoming Switch 2.
Griffin has used social media platforms to explain more details about Hollow Knight: Silksong’s release schedule. Despite its presentation during the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct event, Griffin clarified that this does not imply the game will bypass the initial Nintendo Switch.
Griffin mentioned in his post that “Hollow Knight: Silksong” will be released on not just the current Nintendo Switch, but also on the anticipated Nintendo Switch 2.
Fans of Hollow Knight were thrilled when Team Cherry emerged during the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct and unveiled a 2025 release date for Silksong, a long-awaited sequel. After years of eager anticipation, it appears that Silksong will be available this year, offering relief to original Switch owners who won’t need an upgrade to play it.
Despite the fact that we haven’t yet announced a definite launch date for Hollow Knight: Silksong, keep your eyes peeled for more information on this exciting topic in the future.
