As a devoted fan who has been hooked since the very first episode of High Potential, I must say that this unexpected hiatus feels like a punch to the gut. However, being a seasoned viewer of crime dramas, I’ve learned to appreciate the patience that comes with waiting for the best stories to unfold.
The popular freshman crime drama series, “High Potential,” has been consistently releasing new episodes this fall. However, there won’t be a new episode on November 19, Tuesday, and unfortunately for eager fans waiting to uncover the next chapter this year, the show won’t air any new episodes until 2025.
To date, the show has broadcast seven episodes, leaving viewers on tenterhooks for more. The story revolves around Morgan, a single mother of three, who initially works as a cleaner at an L.A. police department. However, with an IQ of 160, she unexpectedly finds herself deciphering evidence from recent crimes and employing her extraordinary abilities to solve murders. This knack for crime-solving eventually lands her a consulting role within the department.
It might not be common knowledge among Tuesday viewers, but the season finale of High Potential, titled “One of Us”, aired on November 12th. Prior to its release, Kaitlin Olson shared a playful teaser on her Instagram, urging fans not to blame her for the show’s hiatus, as she only creates television content, not schedules – implying that they’ll have to wait until January for more episodes.
When is High Potential season 1 airing new episodes?
Based on ABC’s latest midwinter release schedule update, the series “High Potential” is set to resume airing new episodes starting Tuesday, January 7th. This means that the show will continue with its current Tuesday evening slot; however, it will now begin an hour earlier than during the fall season. As of this season, the program has been on at 10 p.m. ET/PT and followed “Dancing with the Stars.” But when the series comes back in January, it will instead be broadcasted at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
On Tuesdays in January, when it comes back, “High Potential” will be part of a captivating lineup of crime dramas. At 8 p.m. ET/PT, the third season of “Will Trent” will air, followed by “High Potential.” After that, at 10 p.m. ET/PT, new episodes of “The Rookie” season 7 will be shown. I’m thrilled about this thematically coordinated block of shows!
If you can’t catch “High Potential” live on Tuesday nights on ABC, don’t worry! You can stream it the next day on Hulu. And if you’ve missed some episodes, there’s no need to worry – you have ample time to watch them all on Hulu now before the second half of season 1 premieres in early 2025!
