On March 18th (Tuesday), esteemed Malayalam actor Mohanlal made a trip to Sabarimala to pay homage and seek the blessings of Lord Ayyappa. Although some speculated it was a customary visit in preparation for his upcoming film L2: Empuraan, it was actually a touching gesture towards a cherished friend that drew everyone’s focus.

I had the honor of conducting a unique prayer ceremony, known as Usha Pooja, during my recent visit, especially for Mammootty. As per a report from The New Indian Express, this prayer was invoked in the name of Muhammad Kutty, Vishakham – the complete name of the esteemed actor, Bazooka.

Mohanlal climbed the holy hill while carrying the irumudikettu from Ganesh Temple. He is scheduled to return from Lord Ayyappa Temple on Wednesday morning following his Neyyabhishekam ritual. The actor made a visit to this revered site after a decade, as his last trip was in 2015 during the premiere of Pulimurugan.

In response to recent health-related news about Mammootty, Mohanlal has offered a special prayer for him. To clarify, there were reports circulating a few days ago suggesting that Mammootty might have been diagnosed with cancer, sparking discussion about potential breaks in his work commitments.

With word of the allegations spreading, his team swiftly disputed them, labeling them entirely untrue. They clarified that he is currently participating in Ramadan fasting, which accounts for his absence. In an interview with Mid-Day, they guaranteed that Mammootty will return to work shortly, including his upcoming project with Mohanlal, under the direction of Mahesh Narayanan.

Regarding his career, Mohanlal’s upcoming movie with Prithviraj Sukumaran titled L2: Empuraan is scheduled to debut in cinemas on March 27. Furthermore, he has revealed plans for the third part of Drishyam. Once he finishes his current obligations, he will resume filming for Mahesh Narayanan’s MMMN alongside Mammootty.

Mahesh Narayanan’s forthcoming thriller represents his most daring undertaking thus far in his career. Renowned for helming films such as CU Soon, Malik, and Ariyippu, he has also lent his talents as a cinematographer in Malayankunju.
