As a die-hard fan who has spent countless hours immersed in the whimsical world of Emily Cooper, I must say that the latest installment of Emily in Paris left me both elated and heartbroken. The anticipation leading up to season 4 part 1 was palpable, especially after the lengthy delay due to Hollywood’s labor strikes.

Warning: MAJOR spoilers ahead from Emily in Paris season 4 part 1.

The fourth season of “Emily in Paris” finally made its stylish entrance on Netflix on August 15th, following some hold-ups due to last year’s Hollywood workers’ strikes. It feels like ages since we last joined Emily on her whirlwind journey through the fashionable and frenetic life in Paris. However, it takes no time at all to get reacquainted with the vibrant and tumultuous world of Emily Cooper.

In the third season of “Emily in Paris,” I found myself smitten by Alfie, the charming British entrepreneur. However, our romance took a sudden turn when Gabriel and Camille’s wedding was called off. The event sparked suspicions about my feelings for Gabriel, which ultimately led to Camille leaving Gabriel and Alfie ending things with me as well, fearing I had been unfaithful.

In the recently released first part of season 4 for the show “Emily in Paris,” there is a question about Emily and Alfie‘s relationship. Have they managed to resolve their issues and reconnect, or have they decided it’s over for good and moved on separately? Let us delve into one of the most intriguing mysteries posed by this new season.

Here’s your final spoiler warning before we dive right in!

Emily and Alfie don’t get back together in season 4 part 1

Regrettably, fans rooting for Emily and Alfie as a couple will be disappointed as they do not reconcile or become an item in ‘Emily in Paris’ season 4 part 1. Despite Emily’s attempts to clarify her actions and rekindle their relationship, Alfie remains distant due to the lingering pain from their past experiences.

Interestingly, despite their strained relationship, Emily and Alfie remain key figures in Julien’s “love’s mystique” advertising strategy for AMI. This campaign is built on the premise of them being a couple and sharing a kiss caught by the kiss cam at a tennis tournament. Just when Julien’s plan seemed to be unraveling due to Alfie’s annoyance with Emily, Alfie managed to join her, saving the day by participating in the camera-friendly kiss. However, they found some resolution without actually becoming a couple.

When Emily organizes a masquerade ball to introduce a fresh perfume, Alfie initially disapproves of the idea until he encounters Camille. She admits to having broken up him and Emily previously, but Alfie agrees not to hinder her relationship with Gabriel. Always causing trouble, Camille tells Alfie that Emily and Gabriel have had plenty of opportunities to become a couple, yet they haven’t. Ideas start spinning in his mind.

At the masked ball, Alfie was spurred into action to win Emily’s heart back. They danced together, and he apologized for his behavior at the tennis match, trying to charm her again. However, Gabriel unexpectedly appeared at the party. After a private conversation with Mindy, Emily realized she had to make a decisive choice between the two men. Ultimately, she opted to be with Gabriel.

Later on, Alfie believes he’s baring his genuine emotions to Emily, admitting that he yearns to be with her and regrets letting her slip away. He even thinks he kissed her! However, it wasn’t Emily. It was another female coworker who resembled Emily in appearance. He soon discovers the mistake and watches as the real Emily departs from the party with Gabriel.

For Alfie fans, it’s disappointing to watch him yet again lose out on love with Emily, but hey, you can’t fight the power of true love. The masquerade party sequence in episode 3 is the last time we see Alfie in Emily in Paris season 4 part 1, as Lucien Laviscount isn’t a series regular. He could still be back in part 2 for some closure and other storylines, so stay tuned to see what’s next!

Watch Emily in Paris only on Netflix.
