During a recent Q&A from The DisInsider, I found myself wondering if rumors about the live-action Hercules remake heavily emphasizing Hades were accurate. According to Skyler Shuler, while multiple creative avenues were initially explored, the current plan for the film is to deliver a “loyal retelling” of the original animated masterpiece.
The report highlights that the cause of this situation is linked to the mixed reactions towards Lilo & Stitch – both its acclaim for staying true to its source material and the fan backlash over changes in the film’s conclusion.
During the Q&A session, there were queries regarding the progress of the Tangled remake. Shuler mentioned that the movie is “still under development,” suggesting that Disney might be more inclined to revive the project due to the massive success of Lilo & Stitch. Interestingly, the report also highlighted that projects like Aladdin 2, Maleficent 3, The Jungle Book 2, and Queen of Hearts have been temporarily paused for now.

First Released in 1997, the movie titled “Hercules” was helmed by directors John Musker and Ron Clements. The main cast includes Tate Donovan, Danny DeVito, James Woods, and Susan Egan.
