In the story titled “Her Knight at the Museum“, you’ll discover what it would be like if your preferred historical figure from yesteryears was to step out of history and into reality, a captivating blend of history and romance that many find irresistible.
As a reader eagerly anticipating each new page, this book promises an exhilarating experience, thanks to its captivating cover and intriguing summary. Reading it seems almost like a natural progression following the chilling Halloween season, offering a delightful dose of warmth and comfort.
Speaking of which, I’m grateful to Berkley for providing me with an advance reading copy, allowing me to dive into it ahead of schedule.
Her Knight at the Museum is as fun as it is swoony.
If you haven’t yet taken a look at the story summary, get ready for a delightful surprise! The narrative revolves around Emily, a woman recently divorced and working as a conservator at The Art Institute of Chicago. Her job takes an unexpected turn when she starts restoring a peculiar statue – that of a knight. From the outset, she experiences an unusual attraction to it but initially dismisses the feeling.
Later that evening, she experiences a dream featuring a knight. The next day, she shares this with her friend, Rose, who advises her to treat it as if it were real. She complies and the statue-knight miraculously becomes a living person named Sir Griffin de Beauford.
Initially, Emily and Griffin are both clueless about what to do. Emily is attempting to quickly educate Griffin on today’s world while keeping her job secure. Shortly after she departs, her entire team panics upon discovering the missing statue. If it seems a bit far-fetched, rest assured that Her Knight at the Museum is an engaging and enjoyable read.
As a gamer, I’m utterly captivated by the deep bond between Emily and Griffin in this game. It’s not just about their love story; it’s watching them both evolve as individuals. Griffin’s fresh perspective on life is invigorating, and it’s heartening to see him value our world. Kudos to Bryn Donovan for crafting such a compelling narrative. Emily, too, is grappling with the residue of her divorce, bravely confronting her emotions while standing up to her ex-husband and his new partner.
Given this foundation, the author could’ve opted for the usual trajectory, but I was thrilled with how events unfolded instead. Although the narrative seems to have reached its conclusion, I can’t help but wish for a tale centered around Rose. Time will tell what lies ahead. If this is the sole story we get set in this universe, it would still be satisfying enough for me.
