Henry Golding Tries Lucid Dreaming to Connect With Dead Girlfriend in Daniela Forever Trailer

Recently, Well Go USA has unveiled the official trailer for the upcoming sci-fi drama titled “Daniela Forever,” starring Henry Golding from “Crazy Rich Asians.” You might remember him as the actor in the recent sequel of “Another Simple Favor.” The movie is slated to premiere in selected cinemas on July 11, and will be available digitally starting July 22.

In the narrative summary, we find that Nicholas is deeply saddened following the death of his girlfriend Daniela. A glimmer of optimism appears when he’s given an opportunity to take part in a pioneering therapy that imitates reality. However, as the boundary between dreams and recollections becomes hazy, he must grapple with the true essence of healing—and whether or not he is prepared to relinquish his past.

What happens in the Daniela Forever trailer?

In the video, Golding’s character is depicted as wrestling with moving forward after the loss of his girlfriend. He attempts lucid dreaming in an effort to rekindle a connection with Daniela. Unfortunately, rather than finding a means to cope with his sorrow, he exploits the virtual therapy for personal gain. Besides Golding, Beatrice Grannò, Aura Garrido, Rubén Ochandiano, and Nathalie Poza are also part of the cast.

Titled “Daniela Forever,” this film is helmed by innovative director Nacho Vigalondo, who also crafted “Colossal.” It’s characterized as a voyage through love, sorrow, and deception in the realm of sci-fi. The production team consists of Vigalondo, Todd Brown, Maxime Cottray, Nahikari Ipiña, Nick Spicer, and Aram Tertzakian. Additionally involved are cinematographer Jon D. Domínguez and editor Carolina Martínez Urbina. The movie made its debut at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival during its world premiere.
