The critically acclaimed cinematic action game, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, originally exclusive to Xbox Series, will now be available on PS5 in an Enhanced Edition port. Joining the likes of Indiana Jones, Forza Horizon 5, and surprisingly, Gears of War, this visually stunning game by Ninja Theory is making its PlayStation premiere.
According to Ninja Theory and Xbox, the highly-anticipated sequel of Hellblade is now playable on both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro, boasting numerous upgrades. Additionally, Xbox and PC users will gain access to all Enhanced Edition features at no additional cost through a free update.
Hellblade 2: Enhanced Edition announced
On the first anniversary of its release, it’s been announced that an enhanced edition of Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 will come out this summer. This updated version will bring some fresh elements to the game.
According to Studio Head Dom Matthews, the upcoming edition of the game has been specifically tailored for both the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro, hinting at additional improvements designed for Sony’s advanced console model.
Beyond this, it hasn’t been clarified what extra features Ninja Theory has planned for the updated game version. It remains uncertain whether there will be new narrative elements or bonus combat/puzzle zones, as only “additional features and tactile feedback for a more immersive experience” have been mentioned.
Matthews expressed in the video announcement, “Our fans for Ninja Theory on PlayStation have been amazing since the times of Heavenly Sword. We’re thrilled to be able to once again share Senua’s tale with PlayStation players.
Ninja Theory has long been associated with PlayStation hardware, and their game Heavenly Sword was a major title for the PlayStation 3 that received widespread popularity, although it had its rough edges. Given that Ninja Theory is now under Xbox ownership, some players presumed that any new releases would only be available on PC and Xbox consoles. However, as with almost everything outside of the Halo series, this isn’t actually true.
