What happens in the Hell of a Summer trailer?
In this video, we follow a band of summer camp counselors who unexpectedly find themselves as the prey of a mysterious masked assailant, right on the brink of summer camp opening. To stay alive, they need to collaborate and solve the mystery behind the killer’s identity, while desperately trying to break free from the camp before it’s too late for any of them.
The movie “Hell of a Summer” is jointly directed by Wolfhard and Billy Bryk, who also penned the script together. This is their first full-length directorial venture, following their earlier collaboration in the short film “Night Shifts,” as well as Jesse Eisenberg’s “When You Finish Saving the World.” The cast includes Abby Quinn playing Claire, D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai as Mike, Pardis Saremi as Demi, Rosebud Baker, Adam Pally, and others. It is produced by Jason Bateman, Michael Costigan, Wolfhard, Bryk, Jay Van Hoy, and Hechinger.
The movie focuses on Jason Hochberg, a 24-year-old camp counselor (played by Hechinger), who believes his main issue is struggling to connect with his teenage colleagues at Camp Pineway. Unbeknownst to him, a masked murderer is lurking in the campsites, methodically eliminating counselors one by one.
