The making of a documentary, helmed by director Malcolm Venhille and producer Dominic Freeman, has been finished and is slated for global unveiling towards the end of the current year. At present, US distribution plans are still under discussion.
Iron Maiden featured in new theatrically-released documentary
Initially, Steve Harris was joined by vocalist Paul Day, guitarists Terry Rance and Dave Sullivan, as well as drummer Ron Matthews to form the band’s initial lineup. In their early days, there were numerous changes in the band’s members. By 1980, the lineup had transformed with Paul Di’Anno handling lead vocals, Dave Murray and Dennis Stratton on guitars, Cliver Burr on drums, and Harris continued playing the bass.
1982 saw Di’Anno leaving the band, paving the way for Bruce Dickinson to step up as our lead vocalist. From then on, we soared to great heights with a series of platinum and gold albums that resonated strongly with fans – albums like “The Number of the Beast”, “Piece of Mind”, “Powerslave”, and “Seventh Son of a Seventh Son”. What an incredible journey it’s been!
2025 finds Iron Maiden, with an illustrious career spanning decades, having released a total of 17 studio albums. This British heavy metal band has captivated the hearts of hundreds of millions of fans worldwide. Beyond their powerful music, they are also renowned for their iconic figurehead, Eddie, who graces every one of their 17 album covers, as well as tour materials like posters and merchandise, and even their stage performances.
Enthusiasts will find the iconic mascot playing a significant part in the upcoming documentary, an event certain to captivate Iron Maiden fans nationwide.
Starting from 2025, the active concert lineup consists of Dickinson, Harris, Murray, Adrian Smith, Janick Gers on guitars, and Simon Dawson on drums. Dawson is a recent addition to the band, filling in for Nicko McBrain who initially joined the group back in 1982. Despite his retirement, McBrain will still be affiliated with the band in an official capacity, except during live performances.
Even after a half-century in the music industry, Maiden continues to demonstrate unyielding energy and momentum, aiming for a global tour spanning late 2025 to 2026. The planned tour, known as the “Run for Your Lives Tour,” will feature songs released solely during the 1980s and early 1990s – a timeframe widely recognized as the band’s most successful and popular phase.
This year, fans of Iron Maiden are in for a treat with their approaching tour and documentary set to release! It’s an exciting time for supporters of the band.
