Hearthstone: Into the Emerald Dream will start the Year of the Raptor

This past week has been thrilling for the Hearthstone team! Towards the end of last week, Blizzard disclosed the plan for the game’s upcoming Standard year – the Year of the Raptor. Kicking off with the forthcoming expansion, Into the Emerald Dream, players will explore the magical realm beyond Azeroth. On Tuesday, Blizzard shared additional insights on this initial expansion of the new year.

In the game of Hearthstone: Into the Emerald Dream, players explore Ysera’s vibrant domain, a place where all magic related to nature originates. However, this realm is under siege by the Old Gods, who aim to taint it with their twisted visions. The Druid, Hunter, Mage, Paladin, Priest, and Shaman are determined to help Ysera and the other Nature deities. On the other hand, the Death Knight, Demon Hunter, Rogue, Warrior, and Warlock find themselves drawn towards the Old Gods’ influence.

Players who side with the Wild Gods can expect new cards featuring the Imbue keyword. These cards will enhance their Hero Powers as more Imbue cards are played. Meanwhile, those who align with the Old Gods receive cards imbued with Dark Gifts, which have amplified effects compared to standard Hearthstone cards.

The Emerald Dream heralds the start of the Year of the Raptor. This year will bring not only three expansions but also a revamped Core set, adjustments yet unseen in the Arena mode, new visuals for Pet customization, and numerous alterations and enhancements to Battlegrounds.

As a dedicated Hearthstone player, I’m excited to share that we’re launching “Hearthstone: Into the Emerald” on my personal calendar, which marks Tuesday, March 25. Starting from today, logging in gives me an edge with the fresh Neutral Legendary dragon Ysera, Emerald Aspect. This game-changer is set to shake up the meta significantly by boosting both players’ maximum Mana by 5, potentially pushing it to a whopping 15 Mana. With such a surge in Mana, games involving the recent Heroes of StarCraft mini-set are about to heat up! The in-game Shop is also offering two free copies of the 2-Cost Creature of Madness. When played, it randomly selects a 3-Cost minion with a Dark Gift, adding an extra layer of chaos to my strategy. Can’t wait to dive into this new expansion!
