Hearthstone blasts off with Heroes of StarCraft crossover mini-set today

As a dedicated gamer, I can tell you that Hearthstone isn’t new to blending worlds. In essence, it’s a crossover itself, providing a unique take on the ongoing storyline from World of Warcraft. It’s even collaborated with Diablo in the past for special occasions. But Tuesday brings something fresh. For the first time, Hearthstone is introducing an entire mini-set inspired by Blizzard’s sibling franchise, StarCraft!

Back in November, I was pumped to learn about Heroes of StarCraft – a fresh addition to Hearthstone’s The Great Dark Beyond expansion, boasting 49 new cards! A lot of these cards delve into the world of StarCraft, while also leveraging mechanics from the latest expansion like Starship Pieces. To make things even more exciting, players can construct decks centered around cards categorized as Zerg, Protoss, and Terran. These cards will interact with each other in unique ways when played together, adding an extra layer of strategy to gameplay.

Absolutely, the term “Heroes” suits the Heroes from StarCraft perfectly. Introducing three new Hero cards for Zerg, Protoss, and Terran factions. Kerrigan, Queen of Blades, a 7-Mana card, can be utilized by Death Knights, Demon Hunters, Hunters, and Warlocks. Artanis, a 7-Mana hero, is accessible to Priests, Mages, Rogues, and Druids. Lastly, the 7-Mana character Jim Raynor can be employed by Warriors, Paladins, and Shamans.

The cost for the StarCraft Heroes set will be slightly above the typical Hearthstone mini-set price. Instead of the usual $14.99, it’s priced at $19.99 USD. Additionally, you can buy it using 2500 in-game Gold. Here on Shacknews, we’ll be closely following this expansion and might share some deck ideas. Stay tuned for more updates!
