As a seasoned gamer and horror movie enthusiast who has survived countless virtual nights in haunted houses, I must say that the latest teaser trailer for Sony Entertainment Pictures’ Heart Eyes has me intrigued. The combination of Valentine’s Day and a masked killer with light-up heart eyes is an unusual yet exciting premise that immediately caught my attention.
Sony Pictures Entertainment has unveiled the initial sneak peek, offering a glimpse into the forthcoming Valentine’s Day horror movie, affectionately referred to as “Heart Eyes“.
What happens in the Heart Eyes teaser trailer?
The “Heart Eyes” trailer presents a town that has been haunted by an elusive murderer known as the “Heart Eyes stalker,” who targets romantic couples, for quite some time. The film is led by director Josh Ruben (known for “Werewolves Within”) who worked on a screenplay penned by Philip Murphy, Christopher Landon, and Michael Kennedy. The cast includes Olivia Holt, Mason Gooding, Gigi Zumbado, Michaela Watkins, Devin Sawa, and Jordana Brewster.
Landon and Kennedy are quite familiar with the terrifying realm of horror. Landon, in particular, has penned and helmed the Happy Death Day series, together with Freaky released in 2020. On the other hand, Kennedy was responsible for scripting and producing It’s a Wonderful Knife, a chilling comedy-horror film that reimagined the 1946 Christmas classic It’s a Wonderful Life as a horror tale.
Holt and Gooding are regularly seen in the horror genre, with Holt recently appearing in the 2023 time travel horror film Totally Killer. Gooding has been featured in both of the latest Scream movies, as well as in the upcoming disaster-comedy-horror movie Y2K from A24.
Over the last few years, the ‘Heart Eyes Slayer’ has terrorized Valentine’s Day by targeting and killing loving pairs. This coming Valentine’s Day, no pair of lovers can feel secure.
