Hayden Christensen To Return as Anakin Skywalker in ‘Ahsoka’ Season Two

Hayden Christensen is returning as Anakin Skywalker in Disney+’s Ahsoka season two.

At the Star Wars Celebration event in Tokyo, it was disclosed that Anakin and Ahsoka would appear in a scene together. During this panel, Hayden Christensen made an unexpected visit, although his return wasn’t officially confirmed until later on. When asked about it by THR, he hinted, “I can’t reveal much, but you can expect to see Anakin again for season two.

At the recent panel, the series creator Dave Filoni, executive producer Jon Favreau, and lead actress Rosario Dawson were all present. During this gathering, they shared insights about season one and acknowledged a significant impact from Hayao Miyazaki’s “Princess Mononoke.” Additionally, Dawson disclosed that filming will start next week.

In “Attack of the Clones” and “Revenge of the Sith”, Ewan McGregor played Anakin. He presented viewers with a youthful version of Darth Vader, before his transition to the dark side. The second season of Ahsoka will be Christensen’s second appearance in this role; he reprised it for two episodes during season one. Before Ahsoka, he made a comeback to the franchise through the 2022 “Obi-Wan Kenobi” series.

The story of Ahsoka unfolds after the events of Return of the Jedi, focusing on Ahsoka Tano, a Force-sensitive individual who was previously Anakin Skywalker’s apprentice. Alongside Dawson in the cast are Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Ivanna Sakhno, Diana Lee Inosanto, David Tennant, Eman Esfandi, Evan Whitten, Genevieve O’Reilly, Ariana Greenblatt, and Lars Mikkelsen.
