Has Severance Season 3 Been Canceled or Renewed?

Are fans curious if Severance will come back for a Third Season? With the conclusion of Season 2, there’s been much buzz about the show’s prospects. Recent remarks, audience achievements, and production insights have ignited speculation among viewers.

Here’s an update on the current information and advancements concerning the potential release of Severance Season 3.

Is Severance Season 3 canceled or renewed by Apple TV+?

Apple TV+ has not officially announced the renewal of Severance for Season 3.

As a die-hard fan, I’ve been keeping my eyes peeled for any news about the next installment of our beloved series. Recently, during an interview on the New Heights podcast on March 19, 2025, Ben Stiller, the executive producer and director, hinted that we might not have to wait too long for Season 3. In fact, he said, “No, the plan is not [to wait three years]. Hopefully, we’ll be announcing what the plan is very soon.” With Season 2 wrapping up on March 21, 2025, I can hardly contain my excitement for what’s to come!

Stiller recently appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live, mentioning that they know the ending for their project, but figuring out how to reach it is part of the creative process and they’ve set milestones. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in February 2025, he revealed that a writers’ room for Season 3 has already been established in Los Angeles. Previously, he told Collider in November 2024 that as long as the story continues, the series should persist, and they have a general idea of how long it will go on, working towards it as they start their preparations for Season 3.

2023 labor disputes between SAG-AFTRA and WGA led to a delay in the start of production for Season 2. The team eventually filmed the second season over a span of approximately 6 months, and it finally hit the screens in January 2025 – three years after Season 1 was first released in February 2022.

From January 17th through February 17th, 2025, the television series “Severance” rose to the top in global viewership on Apple TV+, outperforming all three seasons of “Ted Lasso”.

To summarize, it seems quite likely that we’ll be seeing a third season given the show’s popularity and the latest remarks from its creators.
