The debut season of the adult animated sci-fi show released its final episode on May 11, 2023. Since then, HBO has remained silent regarding the future of the series. Fired on Mars was created by Nate Sherman and Nick Vokey, and it is based on a short story they released in 2016. The show centers on Jeff Cooper, a graphic designer who stays and works on Mars at its only colony. Thus, when his boss unceremoniously terminates him one day, Cooper is stranded on the Red Planet with no way to return home to Earth. The show follows Jeff, who navigates his daily life on Mars as he tries to escape where he worked. His long-distance relationship with Hannah, who’s back on Earth, makes things even more harrowing.
Fired on Mars features Luke Wilson as the voice of the protagonist, Jeff. Other cast members include Tim Heidecker, Sean Wing, Pete Davidson, Chase Bernstein, and more.
