People are wondering if the crime series Ballard, which follows Detective Renée Ballard and her work in the cold case division, will be renewed for a second season or not. Created by Michael Connelly and Michael Alaimo, the show delves into both Ballard’s professional and personal life as she solves long-forgotten crimes while dealing with personal challenges. Since Season 1 has already been released, there is growing interest in potential upcoming seasons.
Here are all the details.
Is Ballard Season 2 canceled or renewed by Prime Video?
As of now, Amazon Prime Video hasn’t made a decision yet on whether to continue or discontinue Ballard Season 2. Nevertheless, co-creator Connelly maintains optimism regarding its potential return.
In a chat with ScreenRant, he shared that the series hasn’t been officially confirmed for another season yet. He believes that the show’s success is contingent upon its initial reception. Furthermore, he expresses optimism about the show connecting with viewers and hopes for a renewal: “We are quite certain that the audience will enjoy it. So, fingers crossed for a second season!” He concluded by stating, “Then we can continue our journey together.
Furthermore, he looked back on the times of filming Bosch, when he inquired from lead actor Titus Welliver if he would agree to remain on the series for five seasons and received a favorable answer. He stated, “I believe what happened with Bosch is quite unusual, and I can still remember on the initial day of filming Bosch, I conducted an interview for Instagram or something similar, where I asked Titus if he could stay for five seasons. And he said, ‘Yes,’ but we ended up with more than that, so let’s see what transpires. I think the show has potential. There are numerous tales we can spin around Renée and Maggie, so here’s hoping we get the opportunity to do that.
From the perspective of a passionate fan, it’s clear that multiple aspects come into play when deciding whether a show gets renewed or not. Key factors include audience response, streaming statistics, and fiscal feasibility. As for Ballard, since its debut was just a short while ago, we can’t yet gauge its success. So, fellow enthusiasts, let’s stay patient as we wait to learn more about the future of this captivating series.
