In a recent conversation, Daniel Radcliffe shared his desire to play Sirius Black in the upcoming Harry Potter remake. However, despite his enthusiasm, he acknowledged that making this idea a reality might not be possible.
During conversation with The Movie Dweeb, Radcliffe mentioned, “A challenging character study? I’m pondering on something exciting but not too lengthy. I’ve always admired one of the other intriguing characters from the series – Sirius Black. He certainly seems quite charismatic and cool.
Although Daniel Radcliffe expressed his excitement about portraying Harry Potter’s godfather in HBO’s upcoming reboot, he clarified that it wasn’t going to transpire. He explained, “However, let me assure you, there is no universe where I will truly enact that character. But feel free to use the title ‘Dan Radcliffe suggests Sirius Black would be enjoyable to portray, but he won’t actually be taking on the role.’

In the initial Harry Potter films, Gary Oldman portrayed Sirius Black, a character who transformed into a shape-shifter. He appeared in three movies and made a brief appearance in the final movie as well. When asked about reprising his role for HBO’s remake series earlier on, Oldman humorously suggested that they might cast new actors, adding, “Perhaps in a few years, I could play Dumbledore.
As I’m typing this, the creators have not announced a release date for the new Harry Potter series yet.
