The original movie was a staple of my childhood, and I’ve been eagerly waiting to see what adventures Happy Gilmore would get into next. The fact that Eminem is making an appearance in this sequel makes it even more enticing!

The original “Happy Gilmore” film debuted in 1996 and enjoyed significant commercial success. For years, fans have wondered about a possible sequel, but only recently has the idea come to fruition. Now, it’s been announced that Adam Sandler, who plays the title character, a struggling hockey player turned professional golfer, has shared both an estimated release timeframe for “Happy Gilmore 2” and news that rap legend Eminem will appear in the movie as a guest star.

That very day, I (Adam Sandler) chatted with Dan Patrick on his sports radio show over the phone. During our conversation, I mentioned that if everything goes as planned, the sequel might drop on Netflix in July 2025. This was in response to Dan’s guesswork about a potential Fourth of July weekend premiere for the film.

“Not July 4th, but we’re trying to get it done in time for July,” Sandler clarified.

Beyond discussing the exact launch date, Adam Sandler has also verified that Eminem will have a guest role in Happy Gilmore 2. During the conversation, Dan Patrick inquired whether they could discuss the cameos within the film. “They’ll criticize me no matter what since they asked me not to do any press,” Sandler replied. “But go ahead and ask, and I’ll let you know if it’s appropriate to share the information.

Later on, Patrick asked if they could discuss Eminem’s appearance as a cameo in the film. “Certainly, go ahead,” Sandler replied, but later clarified that he wouldn’t reveal the specific role that the “Not Afraid” artist took in the movie.

For a considerable period, I’ve known Eminem, and he’s truly an exceptional individual, as Sandler stated. He entered the scene and was absolutely hilarious. In my opinion, we spent a day with Eminem, and we just kept shooting scenes, it was extraordinary. He said countless things that could be useful and countless things we’re grateful are on tape.

Additionally, it was clarified during the call that both golfing greats, Jack Nicklaus and Patrick, will make an appearance in the film.
