Halo Infinite will get a 3rd person mode in November

As a dedicated Halo fan with countless hours spent navigating the battlefields of the Haloverse, I can hardly contain my excitement! The announcement of 3rd person gameplay in Halo Infinite is like a dream come true.

This year, I find myself in Seattle, Washington, where the Halo World Championship has taken over! The world’s top Halo teams are battling it out for dominance, but what really caught my attention was the exciting news shared by Xbox and 343 Industries about the future of Halo Infinite. During a Forge Developer Panel, they revealed an innovative twist for their flagship shooter – we’ll soon be able to play in third-person mode! I can hardly wait to dive into the action from a fresh perspective!

John ‘Unyshek’ Junyszek mentioned during Friday’s panel that viewers are experiencing Halo from a third-person perspective for the first time. He went on to share that this feature has been introduced in Halo Infinite, with plans to launch third-person Firefight in a future update. Additionally, he hinted at the possibility of using this mode in player versus player (PvP) and controlling it within Forge as well.

3rd Person Mode, a joint project by the 343 team and SkyBox Labs (now owned by NetEase), is set to offer a separate gaming experience. This mode will be supported across different game modes, and it’s worth noting that SkyBox Labs continues to work on Halo Infinite even after their acquisition. Additionally, this feature will allow players to toggle between 1st and 3rd person views in Forge at their convenience.
