Halle Bailey Requests Restraining Order Against Ex DDG — Report

Halle Bailey has applied for a restraining order against her ex-boyfriend and co-parent, DDG, due to a troubling history of abusive behavior. Filed on May 13 at the Los Angeles County Superior Court, this legal action follows their public split a few months ago. The two celebrities share a one-year-old son named Halo.

Halle Bailey gets restraining order against DDG after alleged attack

Reports indicate that Halle Bailey claims she experienced various forms of abuse – physical, emotional, verbal, and financial – from Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., also known as DDG, during their relationship. A violent incident is said to have taken place at Bailey’s home in Los Angeles in January, which escalated into a physical altercation according to the reports.

Bailey asserts that the argument started when she inquired about DDG bringing back Halo, which according to records made him upset while he was strapping their son into a car seat. This escalated into a physical altercation where he is said to have grabbed her hair and forcefully hit her face against the steering wheel. Bailey alleges that these actions resulted in bruises on her arms and a damaged tooth. Images of her injuries were attached to the court filing.

As a gamer putting it in my own words, “I’ve come to understand that Darryl can’t be reasoned with. I can no longer tolerate the mistreatment any longer. It’s always uncertain when he might demand our son be with his mother and whether I’ll face his threats and abuse again.” (Inspired by USA Today)

As a gamer speaking for myself, I’d rephrase it like this: Beyond just real-life threats, Bailey claims the mistreatment didn’t stop at social media. She alleges that DDG, who’s known as a YouTuber, Twitch streamer, and rapper, misused his platforms to portray me negatively as an unfit parent. Due to what she calls increasingly aggressive actions, Bailey is pursuing full legal and physical custody of our son.

She additionally sought the court’s approval to bring Halo along to Italy in June for a movie shoot. Simultaneously, Bailey is petitioning the court for a restraining order that prevents DDG from interacting with her or their child and maintains a distance of at least 100 yards from both parties. Furthermore, this order includes a stipulation that DDG must abstain from mentioning either of them on social media.
