As a long-time Guilty Gear fanatic who’s seen more matches than I care to count, it’s disheartening to see our beloved Strive stumble at the starting line of Season 4. The Version 1.40 update has been a rollercoaster ride, leaving us players hanging on for dear life amidst the chaos of balance shifts and bugs.
Over the past week, Guilty Gear Strive‘s Season Pass 4 debuted, introducing Queen Dizzy and a balance adjustment. Regrettably, Version 1.40, the intended rollout, hasn’t gone as seamlessly as Arc System Works anticipated. Shortly after the update, players have been encountering multiple problems within the game. In response to these issues, ArcSys has expressed their apologies and pledged to promptly address an update aimed at resolving these complications.
On the official social media platform for Guilty Gear, Arc System Works acknowledged concerns regarding update 1.40 of Guilty Gear Strive and provided an update. Lead producer Ken Miyauchi apologized for any inconvenience caused and mentioned that they are currently discussing potential fixes and scheduling for the next patch.
Hello GGST community,

Guilty Gear Strive is encountering a challenging phase as it begins its fourth season. The recent update has stirred controversy due to the significant changes made to playstyles of characters like Potemkin and Sol, while others, such as Johnny and Ramlethal, have either been left untouched or received enhancements. Add to that the long list of bugs included in this patch, and it seems like an unusual, yet obvious error for a game otherwise known for its exceptional quality.
Since Arc System Works has admitted there are problems with Guilty Gear Strive Version 1.40, let’s hope they address these issues quickly. In the meantime, keep an eye on Shacknews for more information and updates about this matter.
