In simpler terms, Murphy pointed out that elements such as the flaming curtain at the start, which mirrored Lois’ hospital bed, were part of the series’ subtle hints towards her coma. For instance, Lesley Manville’s character consuming cherries symbolized Lois’ hidden fear of blood clots.
