The Green County map for DayZ has been unleashed into the gaming world, with players already jumping in to explore its new terrain. This new map features a clandestine bunker similar to one found on Sakhalin. Today, I will lead you to the hidden location of this secret bunker, show you where the power generator is situated, and provide all essential information.

Green County secret bunker

The hidden shelter for Green County is situated in the northeastern part of the map, specifically within the National Guard Arsenal’s premises. The center of this enclosed area houses the bunker. Atop the bunker is a lush, grassy hill. Similar to Sakhal, it boasts two exteriors entrances – one on the east and another on the west. These doors can be easily accessed at any time, with a subsequent inner door granting entry into the actual underground shelter. Remember to bring a source of light once you’re inside as it’s rather dark. Inside the bunker, there are four doors that can only be opened when they have power, and at any given moment, only one door can be powered. The initial opening of the first two doors emits a noticeable noise, so keep an eye out for other players nearby.

The secret hideout in Green County is found in the northeast on the National Guard Arsenal map. It’s centered within a compound and has a grassy hill as its roof. There are two entrances (east and west) leading to the outside, and another door inside for entering the actual bunker. Bring a light source because it’s dark inside. Inside the bunker, there are four doors that need power to open, but only one can be powered at once. The first two doors make some noise when opened, so watch out for other players.

In the core of the Power Station compound, north of Dillsboro, lies the generator for the Green County bunker. Interestingly, Dillsboro is situated to the northeast of this very bunker. The distance from the generator to the bunker is significantly greater than on Sakhal, and I managed to cover it with about half my energy reserves, taking slightly over five minutes. This means that solo looting the bunker could prove challenging. To locate it, search for a narrow path running northeastwards. You won’t find power lines there, but you will notice towers where they would be if power lines were present.

As a solo gamer, when I locate the substation, I’ll need the same essentials as in Sakhal to energize the bunker doors: gasoline and a Glowplug. Once I kick-start the generator, there will be four switches (1, 2, 3, and 4) on the wall to my left. Keep in mind that you can only power one door at a time. To access a room, I’ll need to flip switch 1, raid that specific bunker room, turn off switch 1, then activate switch 2 to open the next door. This solo play can be challenging since a round trip to check a single room takes over 10 minutes, and this area of the map is usually bustling with well-equipped players aiming for the same goal. It’s ideal if you have a teammate managing the generator while others gather loot from the locked bunker rooms and move it to the central accessible room. After the loot is transferred, the generator operator can turn off the power and join the rest of the team. However, be cautious as a third party could find the active generator, shutting it off and trapping you within a room in the bunker. Time is of the essence here!

Where to find a Glowplug on Green County

Locating a Glowplug is quite challenging when it comes to entering the bunker. A possible location for this item is inside a Humvee; that’s where I found mine. Remember, you’ll need to lift its hood to spot it. While the Glowplug can appear in the game world, many DayZ players will warn you that it’s more of a fruitless pursuit. I personally haven’t found a wandering Glowplug on the Green County map, but I suggest checking garages, sheds, and industrial areas for it.
