As a seasoned gamer and tech enthusiast with over two decades of experience under my belt, I must say that the unveiling of the Google Pixel 9 lineup has left me both intrigued and excited. The emphasis on AI integration is not just a buzzword but a testament to Google’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of technology.
During the Made By Google event on Tuesday, the Google team unveiled the latest models of their Pixel phones, emphasizing their strong focus on artificial intelligence (AI). In line with this, the new Pixel 9 devices are designed to be fully compatible with AI and will come equipped with Gemini Live features from launch.
As a tech enthusiast who has been following Google’s Pixel series for years, I am thrilled to see the upcoming release of the Pixel 9 models. From my perspective, the significant upgrade in display size is particularly appealing – a 6.3-inch screen on the standard Pixel 9 model and an even larger 6.8-inch screen on the Pro XL. As someone who values having a spacious viewing experience when using their phone, this increase in screen real estate will undoubtedly enhance my user experience.
It’s clear that Google isn’t backing down on its AI focus, and the Pixel 9 is no exception. The upcoming Pixel Studio will feature AI-driven photo creation, while the Pixel Weather app will provide personalized weather forecasts through Gemini Nano’s AI technology. AI is also expected to play a significant role in the Pixel 9’s camera capabilities, enabling features like post-shot people addition, low light enhancement, and intelligent cropping. Expect improvements in Magic Editor within Google Photos and Video Boost for enhanced editing options. The Pixel 9 phones will also boast a new camera bar design with a sleek new sculpture.
Previously this year, Google implemented a paid Gemini model and plans to offer it to Pixel users as a trial. New Pixel 9 purchasers will receive an entire year of Gemini Advanced, encompassing Gemini Live.
Starting today, you can pre-order the Google Pixel 9 series of phones. The base model, the Pixel 9, will cost $799 USD. The Pixel 9 Pro will retail for $999, and if you’re interested in the larger Pixel 9 Pro XL, it will set you back $1099. The standard Pixel 9, as well as the Pixel 9 Pro XL, are scheduled to hit the shelves on Thursday, August 22. The Pixel 9 Pro, however, won’t be available until Wednesday, September 4.
