Good Omens Season 3 Production Stops Amid Neil Gaiman’s Assault Allegations

As a long-time fan of Good Omens and a follower of Neil Gaiman’s work, I must say I’m finding myself at a crossroads. The allegations against Neil Gaiman have left me feeling conflicted – the man who brought us such delightful stories is now embroiled in serious accusations that are hard to ignore.

Fans of “Good Omens” have eagerly anticipated the arrival of its third season for over a year now. Unfortunately, due to severe accusations brought against Neil Gaiman, the showrunner, production on Season 3 has come to a standstill. The series, adapted from a novel penned by both Gaiman and Sir Terry Pratchett, was initially well-received when it first aired in 2019. Following its successful second season premiere in 2023, the show aimed to wrap up with a third installment. However, recent reports suggest that production on “Good Omens” Season 3 has been temporarily suspended following allegations of assault against Gaiman, leaving fans uncertain about the future of the series.

Prime Video’s Good Omens halts production on Season 3

Production on the third season of the show was paused following the emergence of multiple criminal allegations against its showrunner, Neil Gaiman, in recent times.

According to Deadline, it seems that Amazon is considering some changes in their production process to address the problem at hand. Production for Good Omens Season 3 recently halted, shortly following the suspension of work on Disney’s feature adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s The Graveyard Book.

Four women have shared accusations against Neil Gaiman on a podcast titled “Master: The Allegations Against Neil Gaiman,” which was produced by Tortoise Media this summer. Nevertheless, Gaiman has refuted all the claims and expressed his discomfort, as reported by Deadline.

In December 2023, it was announced that Good Omens Season 3 would proceed, but production on the show was put on hold due to a recent controversy. Michael Sheen and David Tennant were set to reprise their roles as Aziraphale and Crowley in this season. However, the outcome of the series’ final chapter is uncertain at present. Amazon is waiting for the investigation into the allegations against Gaiman before making a decision about Season 3’s production. At this time, we don’t know when Season 3 might be released.
