As a passionate gamer, I can’t help but feel the adrenaline pumping as I prepare for my last battle this year. Just like Goldberg, the legendary Hall of Famer and ex-Universal Champion, I was there at WWE Bad Blood 2024, right in the thick of things, locked in a fiery face-off with the current World Heavyweight Champion, Gunther.
After their encounter at WWE Bad Blood 2024, Goldberg revealed he would make a comeback to WWE in 2025 for his farewell bout. There’s much debate about who his final opponent might be, but many fans think it could be WWE World Heavyweight Champion Gunther that steps up for the challenge.

— Wrestle Ops (@WrestleOps) November 2, 2024
Lately, I’ve been feeling pumped after listening to Goldberg on the CarCast podcast! He opened up about his intense preparations for the upcoming match. He elaborated that his training routine has evolved over time. In his words, “I find myself thinking, ‘I’m putting in all this effort for one night.’ I’m giving it my all. You can find me in the garage or gym every evening.
He admitted, “I don’t exercise as intensely as I once did; it’s a 45-minute Jack LaLanne workout compared to the hours I spent during my Goldberg days. Nowadays, I spend 45 minutes stretching, which used to be just ten minutes. However, due to my advanced age, I need to stretch for an hour and ten now.” [Credit: Fightful]
Before stepping into the ring for his last fight, Goldberg‘s thoughts are occupied by a single worry as he prepares for retirement.
Goldberg’s WWE retirement match: What’s really worrying him?
In the same podcast, Goldberg openly shared that his primary worry for his retirement match revolves around his troublesome shoulder. He expressed, “I need to walk before I can run. Everyone is aware of my damaged shoulder. That’s my biggest apprehension as we approach this retirement match. Six months ago, I couldn’t even move.
He added, “I have a reasonable amount of time for preparation. Essentially, I could exert maximum effort in training until just a couple of weeks beforehand, and then I’ll commence a mission to boost myself into top shape, endeavoring to recover as much as possible, so I can establish a strong foundation for further improvement. I’m off to get stem cell treatments.
The Legendary Wrestler admitted he’s got more time to hone his skills before facing his supposedly last opponent, and with conflicting wrestling techniques between them, it promises an intriguing spectacle as to how this encounter unfolds.
