Godzilla x Kong Sequel Casts Jurassic Park’s Sam Neill to Monsterverse

In the cinematic world, Sam Neill, famed for his portrayal of Alan Grant in the Jurassic Park films, has signed up to be part of the Monsterverse. This is in relation to an as-yet-unnamed role he will take on in the upcoming Godzilla x Kong sequel. The sequel to Godzilla vs. Kong: The New Empire was officially announced by Warner Bros. Pictures in June 2024, and this spinoff proved to be a significant hit for Legendary and WB Pictures, earning over $570 million at the global box office.

The Peaky Blinders actor has been cast in the upcoming Godzilla x Kong sequel.

As per Deadline’s report, Sam Neill is poised to face off against the Titans in the upcoming Monsterverse film, having previously dealt with dinosaurs in the Jurassic Park series. At this point, Warner Bros. has not disclosed the specific role that Neill will play in the sequel. The actor, who was part of the original Jurassic Park cast, is set to join a large ensemble featuring Alycia Debnam-Carey, Dan Stevens, Delroy Lindo, Jack O’Connell, Kaitlyn Dever, and Matthew Modine.

Although details about the storyline for the upcoming sequel are being tightly guarded by Warner Bros. and Legendary, it has been hinted that the sequel will center around several fresh human characters interacting with the legendary Titans Godzilla and Kong, as they unite to confront a devastating global catastrophe.

The film is being directed by Grant Sputore, who previously worked on I Am Mother, and Dave Callaham is penning the script. Warner Bros. Pictures recently altered their release plan, setting the Godzilla x Kong sequel for a premiere on March 26, 2027.
