When is the Girl You Know It’s True release date?

On August 9, 2024, Girl You Know It’s True, helmed by director Simon Verhoeven, will premiere in cinemas and digitally. The film features the talents of Matthias Schweighofer, Graham Rogers, and Bella Dayne in leading roles. Quirin Berg, Max Wiedemann, Kristin Winkler, and Fab Morvan serve as producers, while Verhoeven, Kevin Liles, Frank Farian, and Stefan Gärtner take on executive producing duties. Jasmin Davis, Carmen Pilatus, Todd Headlee, and Ingrid Segieth (Milli) are listed as associate producers.

The synopsis tells the authentic tale of Robert Pilatus (Njie) and Fabrice Morvan (Ali), two dancers who rose to international fame as Milli Vanilli in the late 1980s, thanks to the mastermind of music producer Frank Farian. They achieved three No. 1 hits in the US, but what most people didn’t know was that they weren’t actually singing but only lip-syncing to other artists’ voices. At the apex of their success, Milli Vanilli even won a Grammy Award. However, as the truth began to surface, the duo faced immense pressure and became embroiled in one of music history’s biggest scandals.
