The game “Ghost of Yotei” is nearing its release, leading some to speculate it would be showcased during the PlayStation State of Play event on Wednesday. However, given that it’s one of PlayStation’s biggest releases for 2025, it seems likely that it required more time than a brief three-to-four minute segment, which is why “Ghost of Yotei” will have its own dedicated State of Play episode in July instead.
As stated on PlayStation.Blog, the upcoming Ghost of Tsushima: State of Play will give a more in-depth look at different aspects of the game, including enhanced combat and open-world exploration. During today’s event, there was a brief sneak peek showing the new protagonist, Atsu, followed by what seemed to be a new canine companion appearing on screen.
Initially revealed during the State of Play in September 2024, the Ghost of Yotei was first introduced. Players will embark on a journey through the fresh environment of Hokkaido and engage in an entirely new narrative. This marks the commencement for Sucker Punch’s franchise, which promises to shine brightly in the future. It’s worth noting that earlier this year, an anime series based on the Ghost series was officially announced, with a scheduled release date in 2027.
Look for Ghost of Yotei to release exclusively on PlayStation 5 on October 2.
