Over the weekend, TrilluXe was hacked and banned on Twitch for the first time in 9 years.
Africa7 Instead Of Counter Strike 2
On the weekend, TrilluXe decided to stream Africa7 on Twitch instead of playing Counter Strike.
Fans were obviously shocked, and various ideas were suggested in chat. Perhaps TrilluXe has become interested in African politics, or perhaps he was conducting some kind of viewer experiment.
The truth was far simpler. TrilluXe had been hacked.
The streamer quickly responded and posted a statement on X:
Because so many people are messaging me right now… No, of course I am not streaming Africa7 on my channel voluntarily…
Based on his own admissions, it appears that the hack was due to a Twitch extension. For quite some time, the streamer had accumulated numerous Twitch extensions, several of which he was no longer familiar with or unable to identify their purpose.
Instead of deleting them, he simply kept them, which is how the hacker/s gained access.
Fortunately, things are back to their usual state, and TrilluXe has offered some guidance for other streamers: (or) Luckily, we’re back on track, and TrilluXe has shared some tips with fellow streamers.
best get rid of everything [Twitch extensions] you don’t use – That seems to be the gateway.
