General Hospital’s Kathleen Gati on if Kelly Thiebaud Is Returning as Britt

Lately, Kathleen Gati (Dr. Liesl Obrecht) discussed the upcoming return of Kelly Thiebaud (Britt Westbourne) on General Hospital. For those who may not be familiar, Britt Westbourne’s narrative concluded tragically when she attempted to thwart an assault aimed at Josslyn Jacks, resulting in severe injuries. Regrettably, before she could receive medical attention, she lost her life. In a recent conversation, Gati expressed her thoughts on the potential implications for her character if Thiebaud’s Britt were somehow still alive. Here’s the scoop.

Kathleen Gati says Liesl Obrecht would be ‘ecstatic’ to have Britt back on General Hospital

In a chat with Soap Opera Digest, Gati discussed what her character might feel if Obrecht reappears as Britt, who was previously thought to have died. She expressed, “If she really shows up as Britta, I’d be overjoyed for Obrecht to get her cherished daughter back, despite how astonishing it would seem. Imagine having someone return whom you adored more than anyone else in the world, yet believed had perished – the emotions that would stir within you are beyond comprehension for me.

It was suggested that Obrecht’s feelings would go on an emotional rollercoaster ride if Britt is discovered to be alive. Meanwhile, there were thoughts about Thiebaud taking on a different role in the plot. She remained patient to observe how it might influence Obrecht’s storyline.

Furthermore, she described her feelings when Thiebaud returned to set and recounted their reunion. She expressed, “I was in the middle of filming multiple episodes when I noticed Kelly’s name on the call sheet one day – it was her first day back. Walking into the makeup room felt like stepping into a candy store, and there she was. Our reunion was filled with strong emotions and heartfelt sentiments.

Reflecting on Britt’s sad demise from several years back, she remarked, “It was incredibly painful to watch Kelly/Britta breathe her last while in my embrace approximately two years ago. The realization that we wouldn’t be collaborating again after almost a decade of portraying a mother-daughter duo was unbearable. Those tears were genuine, knowing she had left the show behind. After spending so much time together, she felt more like a real daughter to me. I truly care for her.
