On the latest episode of General Hospital, tension between Gio and Dante escalated further, following their discovery about their shared past. In the June 27 broadcast, Dante attempted to mend fences with Gio by inviting him to Philharmonic in the Park alongside Rocco and Charlotte. However, Gio, seemingly unforgiving, declined the invitation, adding more strain to their already fragile bond.
Star Giovanni Mazza recently opened up about this strained relationship.

Following Dante’s proposal being turned down, it appears the distance between Gio and Dante may be greater than before. Gio has consistently chosen not to foster connections with any of his birth parents since discovering more about them during a dramatic revelation a couple of weeks back.
However, Giovanni Mazza, the actor portraying the character, expresses that there seems to be a “certain sense of love” between Gio and Dante. In a recent conversation with Soap Opera Digest, he expressed this sentiment. Moreover, he shared his eagerness as an actor to delve deeper into this relationship aspect.
In my role as an actor, I’m eagerly looking forward to delving into a complex dynamic between a father and son, one that’s far from ideal. The fact that I enjoy a strong bond with my own father makes it easier for me to delve deep into the darker aspects of such relationships – the strife, the discord, and the subtle nuances that make up their intricate web,” the actor shared about this storyline.
I’m genuinely thrilled about this development and can’t wait to see how it unfolds. I believe that in each scene we perform, the relationship is deepening, but Gio seems to think Dante has taken his authority [after Rocco’s hospitalization] and he’s trying to regain control, as he mentioned.
Additionally, he delved into the intricate power relationship, stating, “In essence, this dynamic gives rise to an intriguing question: Who will hold the upper hand? Who might crack first? Yet, I believe that beneath all this tension lies a sense of love… It simply manifests itself in a unique manner.
