As a long-time follower of General Hospital and a die-hard Sam McCall fan, I must admit that her sudden demise has left me utterly stunned. The suspense surrounding Cyrus Renault as a possible suspect in this tragic event has me on the edge of my seat.
The recent demise of Kelly Monaco’s Sam McCall in General Hospital came as a shocking blow to fans, many of whom are now theorizing that Cyrus Renault could’ve killed the fan-favorite character. McCall breathed her last in a recent episode after she opted to donate a portion of her liver to the comatose Lulu Spencer. Following an unexpected reaction to the medical procedure, McCall passed away due to a lethal heart attack. Nevertheless, General Hospital spoilers of late seem to suggest some sort of foul play in her death. So, was Sam murdered?
Here are all the available details regarding Sam’s suspicious demise on General Hospital.
Did Cyrus kill Sam McCall on General Hospital?
As I write this, it remains unclear whether Cyrus was the one responsible for Sam’s death. At present, neither the main characters nor we have any information about who might have caused Sam’s demise.
After a thorough post-mortem examination, it was discovered that Sam died from a lethal dose of Digitalis, a heart drug. This discovery has led to Cyrus, Lulu’s uncle, being under suspicion for potentially murdering Sam. Notably, this revelation comes at a time when Cyrus, a former convict, is back in Lulu’s presence, unbeknownst to him that she has regained consciousness. In a chilling manner, he then spoke to Lulu, assuring her that he would “handle” or look after his niece, which sounds ominous given the current circumstances.
Given Cyrus’ past interactions with Lulu and his distorted view of kindness as mercy, it’s quite possible that he attempted to kill Lulu out of supposed benevolence. To carry out his wicked intentions, this religious zealot may have planned to administer Digitalis to Lulu. However, due to a mistake, Cyrus might have injected the medication into Sam instead, leading to her death.
A new theory hinted in General Hospital spoilers appears to justify Cyrus’ actions. It is speculated that he intentionally drugged Sam so she wouldn’t be able to donate her liver to Lulu, thereby achieving his objective of ridding himself of Lulu and escaping suspicion simultaneously.
On the television series, though Cyrus’ questionable past could fuel suspicions, he currently maintains his innocence. Further insights into Sam’s enigmatic demise will be unveiled in forthcoming episodes of General Hospital.
