In a social media post in November 2024, Chad Duell, who’s been portraying Michael Corinthos since 2010 (after replacing Drew Garrett), announced his departure from the show. He openly shared that leaving the series was a difficult choice for him.

He signed off the post by writing, “This isn’t a goodbye—it’s a see you later.”

As a devoted admirer, I’d like to share that Chad Duell himself explained his departure during an episode of The Daily Drama podcast. He mentioned that he yearned to devote more time to his beloved family and prioritize his mental well-being as the driving factors behind his decision to step away.

James Patrick Stuart – Valentin Cassadine

As your friendly neighborhood gamer, I’ve been following General Hospital since 2016, where I took on the role of Valentin Cassadine. Recently, I found myself stepping away from the show again on January 3, 2025. You see, I had come back just a few weeks prior on December 27, 2024, after an unexpected exit in July 2024 that saw me and my daughter Charlotte fleeing from the FBI.

Interestingly enough, my departure coincided with Charlotte’s, but let me tell you, this isn’t the first time I’ve taken a break from the series. There have been several instances between 2016 and 2024 where I had to step away from Port Charles for a bit. But fear not, I’ll be back on the screen soon enough!

Scarlett Fernandez – Charlotte Cassadine

Starting on January 3, 2025, Scarlett Fernandez, who plays Charlotte Cassadine, took a break from the show temporarily. More recently, Lulu Spencer was portrayed as going to Prague in an attempt to find and bring back Charlotte, but this effort proved unsuccessful. It’s worth noting that this isn’t the first time Fernandez has taken a temporary leave from the series; she has had previous absences since 2016.
