As a dedicated fan of General Hospital for over two decades now, I must say that this year has been quite a rollercoaster ride! The show never ceases to surprise me with its twists and turns, but the departures of some beloved characters this year have left a void in my heart.
Dr. Hamilton Finn’s departure was particularly hard for me because he has always been one of my favorite characters on the show. His journey from a troubled doctor to a selfless humanitarian was inspiring, and I will surely miss his presence on the screen. Michael Easton did an exceptional job portraying him, and I wish him all the best in his future endeavors.
The tragic demise of Esme Prince was another shocker for me. Avery Kristen Pohl brought her character to life with such vivacity that it’s hard to believe she might not return someday. I have my fingers crossed and hope to see her back on the show soon, but until then, I’ll cherish the memories of her feisty spirit and unforgettable storylines.
The untimely demise of Sam McCall was a heart-wrenching blow for me. Kelly Monaco’s portrayal of Sam was always on point, and her character’s death has left a significant void in the show. I can’t imagine the soap opera without her, but I respect the creative decision made by the showrunners to write off her character.
Gregory Chase’s passing was another blow for me, as Gregory Harrison brought a lot of charm and charisma to his role. His death marked the end of an era on General Hospital, and I will always remember him fondly.
The replacements for Tristan Riggs (Aiden), Emme Rylan (Lulu), and Brooklyn Rae Silzer (Emma) have done a commendable job, but it’s hard not to miss the original actors who brought these characters to life. I have high hopes that they will grow into their roles and make the characters their own in time.
In conclusion, while the departures of some beloved characters this year have left me feeling melancholic, I am excited to see what new stories and characters General Hospital has in store for us next year. And hey, who knows? Maybe Dr. Hamilton Finn will return one day with a newfound zest for life, and Esme Prince will miraculously reappear on the canvas of Port Charles! After all, anything is possible in the world of soap operas!
As 2024 winds down, fans are eagerly awaiting news about which cast members from the beloved soap opera General Hospital won’t be returning next year. This year has been filled with intricate plot twists, surprise appearances, and heart-stopping deaths. With the long-running series gearing up for another successful season, some actors and characters have already bid farewell to their storylines. So, who are they? Here are the details.
List of every actor and character who is leaving General Hospital in 2024
Here are all the characters who left the show this year:
Dr. Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton)
As a longtime fan of the soap opera “General Hospital,” I was saddened to hear about the departure of Dr. Hamilton from Port Charles. Having lost my own father some years ago, I can empathize with the emotional turmoil he must have felt upon losing his dear old man, Gregory. Leaving behind the familiar surroundings of Doctors Without Borders to start anew in Port Charles was a brave decision for him, and I admire his courage.
Taking time off to grieve and heal is essential when dealing with such loss, and I hope that Dr. Hamilton has found peace and solace during his hiatus from the show. While it’s disappointing to see him go, I understand that sometimes we must make difficult choices in life, especially when new opportunities come knocking.
I eagerly await any future appearances of Dr. Hamilton on “General Hospital,” but for now, I wish him all the best as he embarks on this new chapter of his life. He will always be remembered fondly by fans like me, and we look forward to seeing what amazing adventures lie ahead for him.
Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl)
Esme met a sad end following her fight with her adversary, Trina, which resulted in them both accidentally falling off their private yacht. Although extensive searches were conducted, no trace of either Esme or Spencer was found, leading people to believe that Esme might have passed away. With this unexpected turn of events, her storyline was paused on the popular soap opera. However, it’s possible she could return in the future as her death hasn’t been definitively confirmed. For now, though, we can say that Esme is no longer part of the show.
Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco)
Monaco’s departure took numerous viewers by surprise, and it seems doubtful that she will reappear on the show, as her character has met her end in the series. Earlier, she was persuaded to donate a portion of her liver to save Lulu Spencer. The transplant operation proved successful, but an unexpected twist occurred. Sam McCall suffered a heart attack, which brought a dramatic conclusion to her storyline. Her departure was a creative choice made by the show’s writers.
Gregory Chase (Gregory Harrison)
Chase was written off permanently as he died of heart failure.
Other characters who exited and were replaced are as follows:
- Tristan Riggs as Aiden – replaced by Enzo De Angelis
- Emme Rylan as Lulu – replaced by Alexa Havins
- Brooklyn Rae Silzer as Emma – replaced by Braedyn Bruner
