As a die-hard Borderlands fan who has spent countless hours looting, shooting, and laughing my way through the post-apocalyptic wasteland, I can hardly contain my excitement! The thought of a new installment in this beloved franchise is almost too much to bear.
With the release of the Borderlands movie, fans are excited about the franchise once again.
It’s possible that the arrival of the next installment in our post-apocalyptic shooter series could come sooner than expected.
The Next Borderlands Game Is In Development
In a discussion, Randy Pitchford (CEO of Gearbox) met with representatives from Epic Games to delve into the past of Borderlands and the upcoming Borderlands film.
The burning question that many fans had been eagerly waiting for an answer to was finally posed, and it is: Are they developing a follow-up?
Luckily, Pitchford replied:
Of course we are. There’s a moment when we’re ready, and we can and will announce something because that’s the moment to make a public promise. We’re working on lots of Borderlands.
We couldn’t be more excited about this!
As a dedicated fan, I eagerly anticipate that Gearbox Software, with its rich portfolio, might be cooking up some fresh titles. For instance, we could soon see new installments in the thrilling world of Risk of Rain or even more adventures with the iconic Duke Nukem!
It’s possible we might receive an announcement during Gamescom 2024, and that would be really exciting!
But until then, as always, we can only wait and see.
