In a mockumentary style, the humorous sci-fi movie “Gaganachari” is produced in Malayalam. Set in Kerala during the year 2043, this film presents an altered society where people’s lives undergo remarkable transformations, unfolding as a dystopian narrative.
In an unexpected twist, I find myself sharing living quarters with three unconventional bachelors, who’ve taken in a runaway alien female from another planet. The movie unfolds the ensuing events in our lives and the fate of this extraordinary guest. It also delves into the intriguing themes of future love and superstition, masterfully woven through compelling dialogues and cinematic mastery.
Besides Gokul and Anarkali, the film features key performers such as Aju Varghese and Kerala State Minister K.B. Ganesh Kumar who take on prominent roles within the storyline.
The film received favorable feedback and is slated for an expansion within the movie universe. It’s been announced that a standalone film will continue the story of Maniyan Chittappan, portrayed by actor Suresh Gopi in the original. A sneak peek of this project was revealed recently, showcasing the actor as a mad scientist character.

Earlier on, during an interview with The Cue, the film’s director shared that the original script was intended for Maniyan Chittappan. Yet, due to the film’s ambitious scope demanding a larger budget and a well-known actor as the lead, they opted to produce Gaganachari instead, serving as an experimental trial project.
