Gabriel Macht is set to appear in Suits LA (but for how many episodes?)

As a gamer who’s spent countless hours binge-watching legal dramas and fantasizing about being part of the elite Pearson Specter Litt team, this news about Gabriel Macht reprising his role as Harvey Specter in Suits: LA has me absolutely thrilled! I can almost feel the crisp, fresh air of Los Angeles as I step into the Pearson Specter Litt offices, ready to tackle some high-stakes cases alongside my favorite characters.

It appears that the highly anticipated premiere of “Suits: LA” will feature one of the show’s major stars from the original series.

Since NBC revealed their intentions to revive Suits with a spin-off titled Suits: LA, there has been much speculation about whether any of the original cast members from the USA Network series might make an appearance. Given that a spin-off without any actors from the initial show seemed unusual, fans would likely appreciate some continuity or connection.

It seems that Deadline suggests Gabriel Macht will play Harvey Specter in the upcoming spinoff. Although NBC hasn’t officially confirmed it, Macht himself posted an Instagram video hinting at his return to the role by saying, “When an old friend is in need…it’s time to step up and fix things properly.

The anticipation for this spinoff is growing, as it’s due to air on NBC on February 23, 2025. It looks like Macht will feature in at least three episodes, and his involvement should definitely pique viewers’ curiosity about the upcoming spinoff.

What is Suits: LA about?

USA Network’s long-running series, Suits, was one of their greatest successes. Running from 2011 to 2019, the show captivated audiences with its compelling narrative and outstanding cast, particularly Patrick J. Adams as the brilliant but non-lawyer Mike Ross, and Gabriel Macht portraying the sophisticated and talented lawyer, Harvey. This duo helped establish a strong connection with fans.

During Season 7, Adams along with co-star Meghan Markle departed the show, but Macht continued until the end of its nine-season run. The series concluded with a spectacular finale where Harvey, after many years, married his longtime assistant Donna (played by Sarah Rafferty) and appeared ready to start his own firm.

In 2024, NBC commissioned a new spinoff series, buoyed by the massive success of “Suits” on Netflix. This upcoming show features Stephen Amell, previously known for his role in “Arrow,” as Ted Black. Ted is a former New York federal prosecutor who has undergone a transformation and now represents high-profile clients in Los Angeles.

Furthermore, Josh McDermitt takes on the role of Stuart Lane, a character who teamed up with his buddy Ted Black to establish a law firm in L.A. Lex Scott Davis portrays Erica Rollins, a smart and determined rising star within this firm. Lastly, Bryan Greenberg is cast as Rick Dodsen, the protege of Ted Black in the entertainment division.

It’s suggested that Harvey and Ted share a history, perhaps from their time working together at the New York City prosecutor’s office. They could be assisting each other on a case, or potentially facing off against one another in court. At this point, only Gabriel Macht has been confirmed for the series, so it remains uncertain if Donna will make an appearance, played by Sarah Rafferty.

Fans are optimistic that other cast members from previous seasons of Suits might make an appearance, such as Patrick J. Adams playing Mike Ross. The upcoming spin-off series, Suits: LA, which was already generating excitement, is now heating up even more with one of the original stars lending additional appeal to the spinoff!

Suits: LA premieres Sunday, Feb. 23, 2025 on NBC.
