FUBAR season 2 officially starts filming: Everything we know about the new season

As a die-hard fan of “FUBAR,” I couldn’t contain my excitement when I heard that production for season 2 had officially begun! The anticipation was already high after the cliffhanger ending of season 1, and now, it’s really coming to life.

As a huge fan of the quirky and hilarious FUBAR series, I couldn’t contain my excitement when I heard that filming for season 2 had begun! With a heart full of joy and anticipation, I recalled the rollercoaster ride of emotions I experienced during my first encounter with season 1. The raw humor, the unexpected twists, and the flawlessly executed characters left me craving for more.

Based on my experience working in the entertainment industry, I’ve learned that rumors often circulate long before official announcements are made. This spring, I’d heard whispers that production on the second season of a popular Netflix show was imminent. But as someone who has seen projects come and go, I remained skeptical until I received the official confirmation from Netflix themselves. The excitement among fans, including myself, is palpable as we eagerly anticipate new episodes.

In addition to the filming news, we also have some casting news to share!

Fret not, Schwarzenegger is returning for season 2! He underwent a procedure recently to fit a pacemaker, quipping about it in the latest episode of his podcast Arnold’s Pump Club: “I’ve turned into just a tad more machinery.”

After announcing the news, Schwarzenegger has been flooded with messages from fans sending their well-wishes. At the same time, some fans have asked if his new pacemaker could affect the upcoming second season of his Netflix action comedy series FUBAR.

FUBAR season 2 cast

Netflix announced that most of the original cast will return for the second season of “FUBAR,” with an addition of a new actor joining the team.

  • Arnold Schwarzenegger as Luke Brunner
  • Monica Barbaro as Emma Brunner
  • Milan Carter as Barry
  • Fortune Feimster as Roo
  • Travis Van Winkle as Aldon
  • Fabiana Udenio as Tally Brunner
  • Jay Baruchel as Carter
  • Barbara Eve Harris as Dot
  • Aparna Brielle as Tina
  • Andy Buckley as Donnie
  • Carrie-Anne Moss as Greta Nelso

In the upcoming Netflix season, Carrie-Anne Moss is set to portray the role of Greta Nelso, revealed to be a German spy. Though details about her character are scarce, initial impressions hint towards potential villainous tendencies. Patience will be key as we unravel the mysteries surrounding Greta Nelso.

As a dedicated gamer following this show, I can’t help but feel disappointed that we probably won’t witness Gabriel Luna reappear in the upcoming season. The events of season 1 left a significant impact on his character, making it unlikely for him to return.

What’s next in FUBAR season 2?

Towards the close of the initial season, Luke and Emma, together with their colleagues, find themselves in a precarious position. Luke cautions that it’s essential for them to lay low temporarily as global criminals and criminal organizations would be actively searching for their whereabouts.

In season 2 of “FUBAR,” it’s important to picture them resuming their work with a hidden traitor among them. The audience is aware that Tina is actually the Songbird, but the other characters remain oblivious to this secret.

In an interview with TUDUM in May 2023, showrunner Nick Santora shared that the second season would be full of “exciting and unexpected twists” that him and his team have devised.

Santora continued by revealing that the Brunner clan would face a multitude of challenges, including Tina’s clandestine undercover work, as previously stated.

In Season 2, we’ll enter with the awareness that there could be a rat in the kitchen. How will they handle this situation?

In addition, the revelation of Luke, Emma, and their team’s identities put them in grave danger, as this information is essentially a death warrant in their line of work.

“They’re in deep dog doo-doo, for sure. They’re in trouble,” says Santora.

Has the FUBAR season 2 release date been announced?

As a longtime fan of “FUBAR,” I was really looking forward to binge-watching season 2 on Netflix in 2024. However, my excitement was dashed when I learned that the show wasn’t on the list of confirmed Netflix releases for that year. Being an avid consumer of entertainment content, I’ve come to expect quick turnaround times between production and release. But having delved deeper into the world of TV production through my work as a behind-the-scenes documentarian, I now understand that things don’t always move as swiftly as we fans would like.

Based on current predictions, it seems that the second season of “FUBAR” will likely become available on Netflix between spring and summer in the year 2025. Typically, Netflix releases shows approximately 6 to 8 months following the conclusion of production. However, keep in mind that there can be deviations from this timeline due to various factors.

For now, expect to see FUBAR season 2 on Netflix in early 2025!

We’ll share more information about FUBAR season 2 as soon as we find out. Stay tuned!
