FromSoftware to make the most brutal boss in Elden Ring Nightreign even harder, as Fulghor gets picked to be the next Everdark Sovereign

Approaching a month after Elden Ring: Nightreign’s launch, players are growing familiar with the existing Nightlords. Now, FromSoftware is introducing enhanced, menacing Everdark variants of these bosses, each featuring an additional third phase.

Initially, we had Gaping Jaw, and in its Everdark form, it featured whirling tornadoes, a greater amount of purple lightning, and quick teleportations reminiscent of Dragon Ball Z, which was observed by Harvey when they first came face to face with the enhanced villain.

Instead of me, I haven’t taken on the Everdark Gaping Jaw challenge myself, as I haven’t been able to persuade my friends to join me in that painful journey just yet. So you can imagine my shock when FromSoftware declared that the next Nightlord to receive the same treatment would be Fulghor, known for being one of the toughest bosses out there.

Rally up, Nightfarers,” a post from FromSoftware states. The Darkdrift Knight Fulghor will receive an Everdark version on June 25 at 6 pm PDT/ 9 pm EST and June 26 at 2 am BST. “A resounding brilliance shall silence the echoes of the Night’s sanctum.

In summary, Fulghor is vulnerable to lightning attacks, as demonstrated when we defeated the Darkdrift Knight by focusing on dealing lightning damage and causing several stuns. This weakness may prove useful for us in future battles.

Although it might appear daunting to face an even stronger form of Fulghor in battle, I must confess that such a challenge is precisely what Nightreign requires. Nowadays, I find myself embarking on runs merely to complete Remembrance missions, remaining undeterred by the type of Nightlord I’ll be facing off against.

Just as every boss from FromSoftware requires mastering their attack patterns to defeat them, so does the Nightlord. However, after a few initial battles, the fights can become repetitive, taking away some of the excitement and unpredictability. Thus, introducing Everdark bosses is essential to keep offering players fresh challenges.

Despite Everdark Nightlords being an excellent concept for enhancing Nightreign’s playability, one can’t help but ponder if FromSoftware might be harboring a grudge by neglecting some of the less potent Nightlords, seemingly to boost Fulghor instead. Did I inadvertently offend them?
