Freaky Friday 2 Gets Official Title and Logo

As a long-time fan of the original “Freaky Friday,” I couldn’t contain my excitement when I heard about the sequel, now titled “Freakier Friday.” It’s been quite some time since we last saw Tess and Anna swap lives, but seeing them reunite with a multigenerational twist has me eagerly awaiting 2025.

At D23, Disney officially unveiled the title and emblem for the upcoming movie, Freakier Friday, formerly known as Freaky Friday 2.

In the synopsis for the film, it’s described as a follow-up to the 2003 classic, featuring an unexpected twist: a multigenerational storyline. Years have passed since Tess (Jamie Lee Curtis) and Anna (Lindsay Lohan) went through their identity crisis. Now, Anna has her own daughter, and is about to take on a stepdaughter too. As they grapple with the complexities of blending two families together, they find themselves in a situation where it seems that a similar crisis might occur again.

What do we know about Freaky Friday 2?

In the upcoming Freaky Friday sequel, Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan will once again take on their characters Tess and Anna Coleman. Joining them from the original 2003 film are Mark Harmon as Ryan, Chad Michael Murray as Jake, Christina Vidal Mitchell as Maddie, Haley Hudson as Peg, Rosalind Chao as Pei-Pei, Lucille Song as Pei-Pei’s mother, and Stephen Tobolowsky as Mr. Bates. In addition to these returning faces, the new cast will include Julia Butters (Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood), Sophia Hammons (Up Here), Manny Jacinto (The Good Place, The Acolyte), and Maitreyi Ramakrishnan (Never Have I Ever).

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that I, being the gamer, am set to direct Freaky Friday 2! I’ve had the privilege of helming films like Cake back in 2005, Late Night in 2019, and The High Note in 2020. Can’t wait to dive into this new adventure!
