Fresh news about the rumored film project by Frank Ocean has emerged, as Jeff Sneider hints that actress Taylor Russell might be cast in Ocean’s highly anticipated directorial debut as a leading role.
What do we know about Frank Ocean’s movie?
According to Sneider’s report, the “Philly” project, currently under development, features Russell as its lead actor. Interestingly, Russell and Ocean are close friends, with Ocean granting the rights for his music to be used in the 2019 film Waves, where Russell acted alongside Kevin Harrison Jr.
The report additionally states that A24 and 2AM are now detached from the project. Earlier reports on the project’s progress indicated that both companies were slated as distributors. However, Sneider clarifies that A24 never participated in the film’s production process, and 2AM is no longer associated with it. Instead, the movie will be independently produced.
