Former AEW Star Wants To Join WWE’s The Judgment Day

As a longtime wrestling fan and someone who has followed Matt Hardy’s career since his early days in TNA, I find it intriguing to see him express interest in joining The Judgment Day in WWE. Matt Hardy’s unique character, “Broken Matt Hardy,” brought a new dimension to his wrestling persona and captivated fans during his time in AEW.

More recently, the WWE group known as The Judgment Day, comprised of Finn Balor, Rhea Ripley, Dominik Mysterio, Damian Priest, and JD McDonagh, has drawn attention from a previous AEW performer. This faction emerged in 2022 with Edge initially leading the team. However, Edge was later ousted by Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley, who then handed over leadership to Finn Balor.

The addition of Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh to the group made it more formidable. For some time now, Judgment Day has held significant influence in WWE. Lately, even their longtime adversary, Carlito, has reportedly joined forces with them, although his membership hasn’t been confirmed officially yet. He’s been spotted hanging out with group members behind the scenes for months, hinting at a possible future alliance.

Matt Hardy, who previously starred in AEW but left when his contract ended in March and declined to re-sign, has shown interest in joining The Judgment Day, currently composed of Finn Balor, Damian Priest, Dominik Mysterio, Rhea Ripley, JD McDonagh, and Carlito. This development has sparked rumors of a possible WWE comeback for Hardy, although he surprised fans by reappearing in TNA during Rebellion in April and reviving his iconic “broken” persona.

Due to the current collaboration between WWE and TNA leading to interchanges among talents, it’s intriguing to think about the possibility of Broken Matt Hardy becoming a member of The Judgment Day.

Matt Hardy on joining The Judgment Day: Why he finds it exciting

Matt Hardy, who previously performed with AEW, has expressed a desire to become a part of WWE’s group, The Judgment Day. During his podcast “The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy,” he shared that the character “Broken” Matt Hardy is undergoing development. He mentioned that joining The Judgment Day could bring an enjoyable experience.

He expressed, “The saying ‘never’ should be avoided. It’s possible that the ‘Broken’ Matt Hardy persona is developing. Some have observed how I switch between speaking in the voice of ‘Broken’ Matt and my authentic self, so it’s transforming. It definitely needs to evolve. The Judgment Day group has an interesting dynamic going on, which could be intriguing if I joined them.”

With TNA currently working closely with WWE, as demonstrated by Joe Hendry’s frequent appearances on NXT, it’s possible that Matt Hardy could temporarily join The Judgment Day.
