Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 Movie Update Reveals Filming Date

As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for horror games, I can’t help but feel a mix of anticipation and nostalgia when it comes to the upcoming Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 movie. Matthew Lillard, who played an unforgettable role in the original Scream series, is set to reprise his chilling character, Steve Raglan/William Afton.

Actor Matthew Lillard, known for his roles as a veterinarian, recently posted an up-to-date information about the progress of Blumhouse’s future project, “Five Nights at Freddy’s 2” film.

2023’s portrayal featured Damian Lillard as both Steve Raglan and William Afton, a character first presented as a guidance counselor, but who ultimately emerged as the central villain in the storyline.

What is the Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 movie update?

Previously, Lillard’s character was observed being pulled away by mechanical creatures as Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza Place crumbled. When asked if there was a possibility of him appearing in Netflix’s upcoming live-action Scooby-Doo series, Lillard clarified that he is set to begin filming for the Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 movie around October.

“On our professional journey, we’re essentially travelers… Absolutely, it would be delightful to… in some manner, pay tribute to the original production, and provide fans with an enjoyable experience,” Lillard shared during a YouTube interview with Jaybee and Milly. “I’m open for collaborations. Currently, I’m engaged in a TV show, and will be working on FNAF in October, but I’m open if anyone needs me.”

Five Nights at Freddy’s is a movie adaptation of Scott Cawthon’s renowned horror video game, carrying the same name. Initially, Emma Tammi took charge as director for the film, having collaborated with Cawthon and Seth Cuddeback on the screenplay. However, whether Tammi will continue to direct the sequel remains undecided. In addition to Lillard, the initial installment featured Josh Hutcherson (known from The Hunger Games series), Piper Rubio (Holly & Ivy), Mary Stuart Masterson (Some Kind of Wonderful), Elizabeth Lail (You), and Kat Conner Sterling (A Week Away).
