Ahoy there, fellow gaming enthusiasts! I can’t help but feel a shiver of anticipation running down my spine as we delve into the dark and twisted world of Pinocchio: Unstrung. As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for horror games, I’ve seen my fair share of creepy characters, but this animatronic puppet has me hooked!
On this particular day, there was much buzz about the upcoming horror movie featuring Pinocchio as the slasher. According to Variety, renowned horror actor Robert Englund and others have signed up for roles. Additionally, the filmmakers shared a fresh video showcasing their animatronic puppet in action.
In the upcoming movie named “Pinocchio: Unstrung,” Robert Englund, best recognized for his role as Freddy Krueger in the Nightmare on Elm Street series, will take part. Additionally, according to Variety, horror veteran Richard Brake is set to appear alongside Englund, portraying Geppetto, the artisan who brings Pinocchio to life in the classic tale.
In addition, Variety unveiled a picture of the Pinocchio puppet, crafted by Emmy-winning special effects artist Todd Masters (Tales From the Crypt: Demon Knight, Child’s Play). As the day progressed, the Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey social media platform posted a complete video demonstrating the animatronic puppet at work, glaring and making its mouth movements towards the camera.

What do we know about the Pinocchio slasher?
The upcoming movie on Pinocchio marks another horror adaptation featuring well-known characters whose rights have entered public domain. This film was revealed earlier this year and portrays James, Geppetto’s son, helping bring Pinocchio to life, which in turn sets Pinocchio on a path to eradicate whatever he perceives as evil.
The movie “Pinocchio: Unraveled” will be part of the “Poohniverse,” which is Rhys Frake-Waterfield’s collection of horror films based on different intellectual properties. This shared universe, also known as “The Twisted Childhood Universe,” already includes the first two “Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey” movies, along with the upcoming “Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare”, “Bambi: The Reckoning”, and a 2025 movie called “Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble”.
