As a seasoned gamer with years of experience navigating through the convoluted plots of soap operas, I must say this latest twist in The Bold and the Beautiful has me both intrigued and perplexed! Finn’s emotional turmoil over Hope and Steffy is a classic soap opera trope, yet the introduction of a new villainess, Luna, adds an exciting layer of mystery.
If you had been anticipating any slight hint that ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ might be setting up a romantic relationship between Finn and Hope, it’s time to let that notion go! On Monday, August 26th’s episode, the doctor made it clear on numerous occasions to Brooke and Ridge that such a possibility was out of the question.
Finn stormed into Forrester Creations, looking troubled and anxious, to share with his mother-in-law Brooke that Steffy had left town, and he believed Hope was responsible. Brooke has been struggling to deal with this situation because neither she nor Hope have a strong defense for Steffy’s actions.
It didn’t appear as though Brooke was waiting for signs that Hope might have been getting mixed messages from Finn, but if she was, Finn made it clear that he hadn’t given her any such signals about a kiss being acceptable. In fact, Finn stated directly that he hadn’t done anything to encourage Hope into thinking that a kiss would be welcomed. Finn isn’t aware of the imaginative scenarios Brooke might have concocted regarding their friendship, but there was nothing from his side that instigated these fantasies.
He’s dismayed because an unexpected action led to his wife temporarily leaving him, which has made him worry that their marriage might not last. Additionally, it seems that Finn worries their relationship could be in jeopardy as Steffy has frequently hinted that Finn’s ties with Sheila and now Hope are harmful to their shared life.
Ridge confidently told him that Steffy just needs some space to contemplate, after which she will return. However, Finn is worried as he doesn’t know her whereabouts. Being left out of the situation has put him in a bit of a panic. He feels responsible for their recent predicament because once again he failed to heed Steffy’s warnings and it has led to complications for them.
All he wants is for her to come home, but he has no idea that another family member of his has her held hostage. Luna spent her time in the episode securing the cage she put Steffy in. Though she initially tried to deny being the one who killed Tom and Hollis, she did admit to it after being pressed by her boss. Luna is the Il Giardino Killer and she framed Poppy all so she could have Bill.
Given Finn’s current state, it’s safe to say he’ll be the one to notice something amiss about Steffy’s disappearance first, as time is running out for her since Luna seems to have a sinister plan involving murder. I have no doubt that Finn will arrive in time, but the chase to reach Steffy before it’s too late promises to be exciting!
