As a seasoned gamer with years of WWE 2K under my belt, I can’t help but feel a sense of déjà vu as I witness the escalating rivalry between Finn Balor and Damian Priest. Their feud is reminiscent of those epic matches in Career Mode where you’d fight your way up the ranks only to find that an unexpected foe from your past comes back to challenge you again.
Finn Balor, head of The Judgment Day, delivered a message to Damian Priest post their clash at WWE Bad Blood 2024. Their feud took shape at WWE SummerSlam when Priest defended his World Heavyweight Championship against Gunther. In an unexpected move, Balor made a sudden appearance at the ringside, despite Priest’s earlier warning for him not to do so.
In this pivotal contest, Balor stepped in unanticipatedly, siding with Gunther, leaving Priest bewildered and off-guard. This timely assistance enabled Gunther to exploit the situation, ultimately winning the match, thereby claiming the title of WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
In a previous partnership known as The Judgment Day, a priest (not the religious type) encountered a treacherous act from Balor. Their history was filled with intense disagreements for about a year, even though they had once held the tag team championship. At WWE’s Bash in Berlin, the duo of Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley emerged victorious against Dominik Mysterio and Liv Morgan from The Judgment Day.
Subsequently, Finn Balor took on Priest in a bitter rivalry match at WWE Bad Blood 2024 last weekend. Despite Balor’s loss, it appears that the head of The Judgment Day has more in store for him.
Finn Balor to Damian Priest: ‘This ain’t over’
2024 saw Finn Balor face off against Damian Priest at WWE Bad Blood in a much-hyped showdown. In a one-on-one bout, it was Priest who emerged victorious, but not without help from Carlito and JD McDonagh. However, even with the upper hand, The Judgment Day’s leader remains displeased with the result of the match against Balor.
More recently, WWE posted on Instagram a video showcasing Finn Balor’s response following his defeat at WWE Bad Blood 2024. In the clip, Balor, alongside JD McDonagh and Carlito, voiced his discontent. He exclaimed, “This isn’t the end, Damian. This isn’t the end because just when you least suspect it, I’ll be ready.
