Finn Balor Explains Why He Attacked Damian Priest

As a long-time WWE fan with memories of countless matches etched into my mind, I must say that the turn of events at SummerSlam between Finn Balor and Damian Priest was nothing short of electrifying! The tension between these two has been building for over a year, ever since Priest’s interference cost Balor his match against Seth Rollins.

Over the weekend at WWE SummerSlam, Finn Balor, head of The Judgment Day faction, stunned Damian Priest with an unexpected betrayal. This betrayal occurred during Priest’s title defense for the World Heavyweight Championship against Gunther. At a crucial moment, Balor made his sudden appearance at ringside, altering the course of the match.

In a crucial fight, Gunther received unexpected aid from Balor, confusing and distracting Priest. This assistance enabled Gunther to capitalize on the moment and ultimately win, thereby claiming the title of WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

At SummerSlam, longtime Judgment Day member Damian Priest was betrayed by his former tag team partner, Balor. Over the course of a year, they had faced several disagreements, and their history of tension reached its peak with this unexpected act of betrayal by Balor.

Finn Balor says he waited over a year for revenge

During the most recent episode of WWE Raw, Finn Balor clarified the motive behind his act of treachery at SummerSlam. To illustrate, he showed a snapshot from his bout with Seth Rollins at the 2020 SummerSlam event. That fight ended in defeat for Balor due to Damian Priest’s interruption, which disrupted Balor and ultimately resulted in his loss.

Despite reconciling with Rhea Ripley, it seems Finn Balor hasn’t fully forgiven Priest yet, as evidenced by his recent Instagram post reminding him of the past transgressions that caused their rift over a year ago.

In the most recent episode of WWE Raw, Priest and Ripley joined forces and assaulted the latest members of The Judgment Day. Both Priest and Ripley have made it clear that they intend to take revenge on this faction in the future.
